Back in my college days I was vehemently adhered as an active volunteer, photographer for many N.G.Os’. N.G.Os’ (with a soul purpose to flourish as an asset to the community) does embark the perseverance of natural law i.e. to “be kind and help others in need”.

While these new emerging N.G.Os’ continue to bring relief to the lives of many and help the community to flourish. We can’t ignore that some of these N.G.Os’ have been in the game from a really long time for a soul-purpose- of just to get that popularity, specific number of followers or more so THAT PERFECT PICTURE. These self-reliant social-media-SOCIAL-INFLUENCERS could work immensely to bring about a change in the doleful lives of the unkempt! But are they really working towards bringing a change into the society?

Recently I got hooked onto this interesting internship offered by an N.G.O working in the field of women empowerment and children education. A thought emerged over me-“Yes! Let’s give it a try”. After a few rounds of interviews I got selected. On the very first day of the internship I was made acquainted with their social media presence and learnt how social media in the wake of the COVID-19 has helped them retain their credibility amongst the donors and some of their active-peripheral support groups and other social- media leaders.I was genuinely intrigued to find out and learn how important role could social media play in the given situation…

On the second day things started turning gray! For a matter of fact- I learnt how the N.G.O has been exhausting their internees to gather around funds from their relatives, distant family members and friends. I get pretty stuck up by a few questions when monetary parabola is involved! I began thinking about the credibility and the guarantee that can be given out to people, volunteers,prospective-active supporters of the N.G.O, but there wasn’t any information provided to us.Sounds real shady right? I wonder how many N.G.Os’ these days are really working towards the sole purpose of uplifting the lives of people! How many of them are really doing justice to the funds that are being collected via these never-ending campaigns?

For all I have learnt is that it’s really important to do our own research and then apply for internships, specifically if you are someone who has been very equipped with the idea to become a part of the social-initiative/development and help people in whatever small-way. We should always be ahead in cross-examining the existence of the N.G.O and learn everything about it before signing onto become a part of the ephemeral inittaitive.

I left the internship because I still couldn’t gather any information or relevant-source that would help me understand the due importance or credibility of generating tremendous amount of funds for the needy! Was it really been given to people in order to help them? We would never know!
